Aqualandia, the world's largest water park, received the award from the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE INSTITUTE FOR TOURISM RESEARCH, for its position as an outstanding leisure complex and due to its unquestionable business record.

The award was presented to Aqualandia President, Georges Santa-María, who has been directing the great water park for nearly 30 years, together with nearby Mundomar, The Wildlife and Sea life Park with its showcase dolphin show. The group led by Georges Santa Maria recently acquired the Terra Mitica theme park to thus expand its range of entertainment options aimed at families and young people.

For 29 years Aqualandia has been helping promote tourism, not only in Benidorm, but all along the Costa Blanca and the award recognises this achievement. During the award ceremony, attended by the Director of the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE INSTITUTE FOR TOURISM RESEARCH, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and other leading academics, special mention was made of the role of Aqualandia and its corporate social purpose. The company Foundation is well known for its Dolphin Therapy programmes, which help children from around the world with physical and mental conditions.
